History

History of Germantown Academy Wrestling Club:

Started back in 2006 lead by Tod Kindig out of Blue Mountain High School, PA. Germantown Academy Wrestling Club drew in some of the best talent in the state, multiple state champs, NCAA champs and all-americans, and was one of the top clubs in the country. After some of Blue Mountain’s best graduated to D1 programs (Oklahoma State, Penn State, Army, Central Michigan, Air Force, Brown), and Coach Tod moved on to coaching elsewhere, the program shut down in 2013.

It has been 8 years Germantown Academy Wrestling Club remained dormant until the unexpected passing of Coach Tod in August 2021. Since that tragedy, Josh Kindig moved to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area after graduating from Oklahoma State and competing at the Freestyle Senior Level across the world to build Germantown Academy Wrestling Club into a powerhouse once again, but now in Southeast PA. Josh Dziewa, who wrestled for the Iowa Hawkeyes is an assistant coach with Germantown Academy Wrestling Club too. With the help of sponsors after Coach Tod’s passing, we have started Germantown Academy Wrestling Club up once again in Coach Tod honor. This is a brand new facility, which began in May 2022.
