Vision

Germantown Academy Wrestling Club will strive to produce wrestlers that work to be their best, perform at their best, and are confident and prepared to face life’s’ challenges on and off the mat. We provide a competitive environment while growing the sport of wrestling in the PA area. 

Values

  • Work Ethic: If you are dedicated to this sport, it will teach you work ethic. When in the room, we work to get results by practicing hard, staying focused, and pushing our bodies and mind.
  • Positivity: Performance and execution are more important than match score; personal victories are worth more than podiums. A positive mindset is a powerful tool.
  • Mental Toughness: Wrestling is both a team and individual sport; you determine the outcome. Mental toughness is the primary base of emotional management and developing this allows our wrestlers to perform under high stress and fatigued situations. In our room, you learn to push through.
  • Intelligence: Much of wrestling is cerebral. Wrestlers succeed when they can not only execute the moves but also think ahead of their opponent in situations. Through the education our wrestlers receive in the room, they will be able to know position and moves and gain greater knowledge of the sport.
  • Character: Discipline, dedication, loyalty, compassion, and sacrifice fuels passion. These are the characteristics needed to grow in the sport. We take pride in the fact that our wrestlers continue to develop strong character and values while working in our room. This involves sportsmanship and honoring others including parents, coaches, opponents, and officials.
  • Responsibility: Ultimately it is what you put into the sport that will prompt success. We expect our wrestlers to understand that when they are in our room, they are here to work. It is the responsibility of the wrestler to show up to practice, stay focused, and put in the work so that we can work together to produce results.

Mission

Promote excellence in wrestling and positively influence the lives of our wrestlers on and off the mat through education of wrestling technique and training while strengthening physical and mental fitness. We are committed to developing the overall wrestler through practices and competitions, emphasizing goal-setting, physical conditioning, skill building, camaraderie, and positive self-concept. We believe in our wrestlers, we work to have our wrestlers believe in themselves, and be the best version of themselves by instilling our core values and ultimately getting results.
